Last updated: 1 October 2026
Khabar Sangraha is operated by Techcraft Solution ("we"), which runs the website khabarsangraha.com and the Khabar Sangraha Android app on Google Play. Both collect headlines and short summaries from the public RSS feeds of established news outlets and link every story to its original publisher. This policy explains what information is handled when you use them.
Information we collect
We do not ask for or sell personal information. There are no user accounts or sign-ins. The website shows ads from Google, described below; the app has no ads. The website keeps simple visit statistics, described below; the app does not. The app uses Google Firebase only to deliver notifications, if you allow them.
Information stored on your device
The app keeps your settings (app language, which news languages to show and which notifications you want), the stories you save for later, and a short-lived cache of recently loaded news on your device so it can show news offline. This never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data. The website stores the same settings in a session cookie.
Website visit statistics
To know how many people read the website and from where, each page view on the website records your IP address, the approximate country worked out from it (using the DB-IP database, on our own server), the page, the website that linked you here, and your browser and device type. We use this only for totals such as visitors per day and per country. It is not shared or sold, is not used for advertising, and is deleted after 90 days. Search engine bots are not recorded, and the Android app does not send visit statistics.
Nepali keyboard in the app
The app includes an optional Nepali keyboard, which works only if you turn it on in your phone's settings. Like every keyboard, Android lets it see what you type while it is in use. It uses that only to turn the English letters you type into Nepali, on your phone. It does not store, log or send anything you type, has no dictionary that learns from you, and makes no internet connections. Password fields are typed as plain English. You can switch to another keyboard at any time with the 🌐 key or turn it off in your phone's settings.
Notifications in the app
If you allow notifications, the app receives breaking news and, if you turn it on, a morning digest through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Firebase gives your installation a random identifier so messages can reach it; the app subscribes it to general topics such as "breaking news in Nepali". We do not receive your name, phone number or contacts, and we do not send notifications to individual people. You can turn notifications off in the app (menu → Notifications) or in your phone's settings. Google handles this data under its own Firebase privacy terms.
Advertising on the website
The website shows ads from Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads, which may be based on your previous visits to this and other websites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google's My Ad Center, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services here. Visitors in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom are asked for consent first. The Android app does not show ads.
Server logs
When the app or your browser loads news from our server, the server records standard technical information such as IP address, time of the request, the page requested and the browser or app version. These logs are used only to keep the service running and secure, are not shared, and are deleted routinely.
Publishers' websites
Full stories open on the original publisher's website, either in your browser or inside the app's reader. Those pages, and the images shown with headlines, are provided by the publishers, who may use cookies or analytics under their own privacy policies. We do not control or receive that data.
Radio
When you play a station on the Radio page (or, when available, in the app), your browser or phone connects directly to that station's own streaming server. Like any radio app, the station and its streaming provider can see your IP address and device type while you listen, under their own privacy policies. We do not relay, record or store the audio, and we do not receive what you listen to. The list of stations comes from the open directory Radio Browser (radio-browser.info).
Children
The service is a general news reader and is not directed at children under 13.
Changes and contact
We will update this page if these practices change. Questions, or a publisher who wants their source removed? Email info@khabarsangraha.com.
